While RSP Architects has worked with several clients to get their new buildings and spaces LEED-NC (new construction) Certified, RSP i-SPACE is working with clients to assess their organizations and facilities for LEED-EB (existing building) Certification. To be successful with LEED-NC or LEED-EB collaboration between the building owner, developer, architect, consultants, occupants, city … and contractors ... is required. Approximately 20% of the points available for LEED certification can be directly influenced by contractors: material choices, erosion control, waste disposal, recycling, etc., in addition to any influence they are able to excerpt in the pre-construction design process or post-construction operations. RSP i-SPACE helps clients analyze, strategize, and optimize the four key elements of their real estate portfolio; buildings, space, people and assets, to align them with their business goals. Mike Lyner - Mike is a registered Architect with almost 30 years of professional experience. His inbred abilities to categorize data led him progressively through the worlds of architectural design and specifications, contracts, cost estimating, database development, computer-aided facilities management, integrated workplace management, and now building information modeling. He badly wants a legacy of being seen as part of the solution… not part of the problem. (As the only architectural student who designed his thesis project backwards ... from what the examiner would REALLY like to see, to a building form… Mike progressed into the world of visualizing real estate data as a building owner/operator would like to see it. His wife says he is anal just because he color-coded all of their CD's so that he could quickly make his music selection by mood (then the iPod made that all too simple!). However, he does have a self-professed "Border Collie mentality" of wanting to round-up client's real estate data, and presenting it in a more orderly fashion.) |
